2 signatures so far! Petition created by: Kaggwa Andrew The Uganda Government through the parliament wants press freedom scrapped from the constitution of Uganda. In the recent years we have seen the unlawful arrest and torture of Journalists like Andrew Mwenda of the Monitor, Archie Luyimbazi formerly working with WBS Television among many others. The press has greatly exposed the wrongs of the government for example, abuse of legal rights, land issues, safe houses(illegal detention places) among others. Government believes that by doing so, it will have stopped the spread of harmful propaganda to the masses. 2 have signed so far - help us get to 100. We have achieved 2% of our goal. Let's keep going! Sign the petition! Details, Impact and Progress If you signed this petition we will in position to block parliament from passing this amendment. It means that there will be freedon of expression in Uganda. We need 100signatures and together you can help us attain our goal.
