Help Attawapiskat

Attawapiskat First nations is a community located in North Ontario near James Bay. For years this community has struggled with poverty. Housing is limited with many people living in crowded makeshift shelter that is un-insolated and without electricity or plumbing. In May 2000 the community's elementary school was closed due to the soil being contaminated by a fuel spill. Since then they have been fighting to get a new school and have proper education. For years the people of Attawapiskat have been calling for help, proper living conditions, and proper education but have been ignored. With dropping temperatures and winter approaching quickly they have declared a state of emergency but still no help has come.
The purpose of this petition is to demand that the Canadian and Ontario government assist Attawapiskat. A long term plan needs to be put in place to provide proper living conditions and education to the people of the Attawapiskatt First Nations.
