Petition created by: Veronica Le Nevez We the undersigned: 1.Strongly urge Rockdale City Council to recognise the value of Bexley Pool as an important community asset; and 2.Call for the pool to remain open and operational all year round commencing immediately; and 3.Upgrade the facility to National Standard including the addition of an 8 Lane X 25 Metre Indoor Pool. Sign the petition! Details, Impact and Progress Bexley Pool, in the St George area of Sydney, is an Olympic-sized public pool. The pool is in a great location which is easily accessible by public transport. Rockdale City Council currently closes the pool between April and September every year, despite it being heated. Other local councils have upgraded their swimming pools to provide year-round pools, with most also having a 25m indoor pool. However Rockdale Council has failed to even conduct essential maintenance on the pool, let alone upgrade it. The residents of Rockdale ask for your support to convince the Council to upgrade this important community asset.
