Golf Course as Prospective School Site: Petition to Mt. Horeb Village Board

Golf Course as Prospective School Site: Petition to Mt. Horeb Village Board

We the citizens of the Village of Mt. Horeb petition the Village Board to reconsider their zoning decision to restrict the use of the property currently owned by the McGinley family — the Norsk Golf Bowl, currently zoned agricultural.
We request the Village Board to actively solicit public and professional input regarding using this property as a prospective school site.
1. With appropriate infrastructure to build —water, sewer, electricity, streets — the golf course site will potentially save taxpayers millions on building costs.
2. Close to other schools and in the Village proper, the site is well-suited for a school. Children could walk to and from school, or walk to the library or area businesses after school. The location will require no extra bus transportation.

We appeal to the Village Board to consider zoning changes that do not limit the use of the Norsk Golf Bowl or prevent it from being used as a future school site.
