Petition created by: Carlyb The HSE has decided to no longer allow some high tech medicines used for IVF cycles to be funded under the DPS scheme for those who have undergone 3 or more full IVF cycles. This could mean adding up to €4k to the cost of treatment which means for alot of people that they can no longer afford another treatment or it will take alot longer to save the money for treatment-and time is not something alot of us have. The HSE are suggesting the reasoning behind this decision is not to do with spending cuts but to protect womans health as they say that more than 3 cycles can lead to OHSS. As we know, we are at risk of OHSS every cycle of IVF we do and risk doesnt increase the more cycles we do It is incredible that the HSE are trying to use such an uneducated excuse by reason for cutbacks. For anyone who has undergone IVF or may require it in the future or if you know of anyone who has to deal with the heartache of infertility and IVF often ends up as our only hope, please dont let the HSE take away our chance of having our miracle baby.
