444 signatures so far! Petition created by: Charity Posadas India, a country located in South Asia, has a very large population of poor people that are suffering severely from poverty. Poverty is the shortage of common necessities such as food, clothing, shelter and safe drinking water, all of which determine ones quality of life. Everything that causes poverty for the Indian population revolves around the issue of the caste system. The caste system is a religious social standing system, which means that the population is divided in higher and lower groups. The lowest category in the caste system is the Untouchables. The Untouchables are considered to be people deemed so far below the rest they are considered to be sub-human. Impoverished Indian citizens are left with the low class jobs, unsanitary households, and large money deficits. Unfortunately, this is not new for them and it just keeps getting worse and worse as the years pass. This is happening in most cities located in India, such as Bihar, New Delhi, Tamil Nadu and several other places located in India. In a nutshell, India is a country with multitudes of underprivileged people no matter where you go. Since many residents are facing poverty, they do not have a good lifestyle. Many do not even have a choice in what their lifestyle will be. Due to the ongoing caste system of more than three thousand years, Indians categorized under the system are restrained to their class; thus the rich remain wealthy and the Untouchables remain poor. 444 have signed so far - help us get to 350. Details, Impact and Progress It is a crime against humanity because it does not allow the Indian race that are in the caste system to live their life equally like everybody else. It is not fair that only Indians considered to be "rich" are the only ones that have respect and the right to life. Therefore, we should take action because it will make a huge impact on the Untouchables because then they can redeem themselves and live a better life. They will have a better life because they can have a decent house, make a decent amount of money, and be able to support themselves and their families, if any. If we are able to get enough signatures then it may be possible that we could make a difference for the Untouchbles of India. With these signatures, we may be able to send it to the government of India and change how the Untouchables live and how they are seen and treated by the higher classes.
