We should name the new building that will house all most all aspects of the University to The Martin Luther King Jr Building. 32 have signed so far - help us get to 25,000.  We have achieved 0.13% of our goal. Let's keep going! Sign the petition! Details, Impact and Progress Dr King came to Newcastle in the 1960 and this was his ONLY visit to the UK. He came all the way up to Newcastle from London and was awarded a degree. This is a new £35 Million Building!You can see the link here: http://www.ncl.ac.uk/press.office/ We need to show the world that we have not forgotten this great Civil Right leader at a time when many peoples civil rights are being removed in western countries as well as the developing world. Though you may ask 'who is going to forget such a legend of our time'. I can tell you now almost 68% of students in Newcastle don't even know about this visit and the University has done little to showcase their once great achievement.
