CHILDREN IN THE NIGER DELTA HOST COMMUNITIES

To whom it may concern,

On behalf of the youths of the Niger Delta region, we the members of the Niger delta youths for development wish to bring to your attention, the state of affairs of the primary and secondary schools in the interior communities of the region:
Almost all aspect of government activities in the region are focusing attention on the urban areas while the children in the “host communities”, the communities in which the actual oil activities are taking place are totally ignored. The problem is not a simple one as most of the children are not given the opportunity to aspire for a better life; you will agree with us that in the 21 century the only tool we can truly use to develop our land is a good education; if you agree with this we can accurately deduce that neglecting the education of the children in the interior communities is a direct act to hinder the development of the region.
With all sense of humility and desperation, we beg that you use your capacity as a good citizen of the world and a policy maker to act so the situation can be looked into and the future of the children in the communities can be secured.
