121 signatures so far! Petition created by: Erin Charles The proposed dress code for Queen Mary's High School Sixth form, starting September 2009 is as follows: *smart, plain dark coloured skirt or trousers with dark coloured jacket *clothing should be suitable for office/business environment. denim is not considered appropriate *skirts must not be very short in length *the jacket should be tailored and will be worn at all times on the premises unless in very warm conditions *outdoor coats or jackets should not be worn once on the school premises and should be stored in lockers *smart collared shirt or blouses(shirts or blouses should not have very low decolletage or show bare midriff) *smart shoes with low heels - no trainers As students of the school, we believe that this dress code is inappropriate as it is costly, uncomfortable and impractical. The majority of students are not against the idea of the dress code, but believe it should be more appropriate for 16-18 year olds during day-to-day school life. Although the need for a change of dress code is not up for discussion by goveners we are requesting a re-think of the dress code, with more input from the students. 121 have signed so far - help us get to 250. We have achieved 48.4% of our goal. Let's keep going! Sign the petition! Comments Note: This service is provided as a service to TakingITGlobal Members.
