Petition created by: Shoaib Khan In 1945 when United Nations was created after the failure of the league of Nations there was a ray of hope for the oppressed people of the world. Similarly Kashmiris are looking towards United Nations for their intervention as it is already mentioned in the United Nations Charter for Kashmir. If UN can intervene and create East Timor from muslim Indonesia, then why the UN intervene in muslim Kashmir and free it from Hindu India. The brutality of the Indian armed forces against the innocent Kashmiris has not stopped. The retaliatory attacks by the Kashmiri militants will go on for the years to come on Indian security personell causing bloodshed everyday. Recently the rape and murder of two young women in Kashmir in which the Indian security forces involvment has been proved and the backlash which followed thereafter are the signs of confrontations to come not only among the Kashmiris and the Indian forces but also between Pakistan and India. The International Community has already described Kashmir as the possible nuclear flashpoint in the future. The UN is already under criticism for its use as the personal organisation of the US. In order to avoid any further holocaust in the sub-continent we demand the United Nations organisations to inervene in Indian administered Kashmir if possible by use of peacekeeping force and hold a plebiscite in the region as soon as possible and do not succumb for two party talks as advocated by the communal Indian authorities. 66 have signed so far - help us get to 8,000,000.
