Keep Veronica at Swansea University

The University is having to make many staff cut backs in its faculties due to budget cuts. These cuts are not only affecting Swansea University, but also universities across the UK. Due to this, the University may not renew Ms Veronica Peintinger’s contract. This is a great disappointment to not only many students, but also to many members of staff. It is unjust that a teacher of such talents should be lost. Veronica is an enthusiastic and most helpful teacher who has not only made German more enjoyable, but also her excellent co-ordination of the module has made it easier to understand and learn such a difficult language. Most importantly, her enthusiasm as a teacher has made this year a thoroughly enjoyable learning experience for all students, who have had the pleasure of profiting from Veronica’s outstanding teaching ability. Veronica is not only a great teacher, but she is also a willing and helpful person, who we are all able to trust and confide in. Veronica is also an excellent personal tutor Swansea University would be at a loss without such a hard working, committed and talented teacher like Veronica. We understand that many universities are under pressure to make these cut backs and that this is not an easy decision. We are also fully aware that these cuts have to be made. However, we urge that the decision not to renew Veronica’s contract is reconsidered, as we strongly believe that special talents, like Veronica, should not be a victim of such cuts.
