The existing independent community newspaper “ ONENESS Radio Channel NEWSLETTER” will be upgraded and managed in a more professional way and a free community relief Channel TV and farmer Radio station which are already being planned for several years will be officially lunched. Through the O.N.E.N.E.S.S Radio Channel the reports and articles which will and already have been researched by the journalists and the programs cover help to build a better community family, get connectedness through daily motivation, prevention messages against infectious and chronic diseases such as nutritional anemia and malnutrition and HIV/Aids, talk about ONENESS, steps toward freedom, peace and reconciliation, and much more. PETITION CONTEXT: More than one billion people in the world today, the great majority of who are women, live in unacceptable conditions of poverty, mostly in the developing countries such as BURUNDI. Livelihood approaches are basically viewed as a possible means of creation of opportunities to generate income as well as the ownership of assets and social inclusion to reduce the vulnerability of the rural poor. The rural population is largely dependent on agriculture, which is facing a number of converging environmental trends that reduce options, drive migration and threaten the future sustainability of livelihoods, particularly in the most marginalized areas. A deeper understanding of the determinants of poverty, coping measures and of the livelihood strategies adopted by rural communities is necessary to identify pathways for sustainable means of sustenance. The livelihood needs of men and women are always not the same, due to their different roles, responsibilities and resources. So gender sensitive livelihood strategies and programmes are getting identified as the rights of poverty stricken millions. Realising the need to have sustained livelihood approaches for poverty alleviation among women of different countries, various national and international organizations have come up with actions of appropriate strategies and programmes accordingly. The past three decades have witnessed a steadily increasing awareness and interventions from stakeholders to empower women through measures of increasing social, economic and political equity and broader access to human rights and productive resources of credit, market and technologies; in this context best practices of gender sensitive interventions from various parts of the world are to be recognized as sign posts of change.
