Petition created by: kelly Beaulieu To create fairness for tenents residing in Yukon Housing: -Fairness in rent costs to coincide with YTG employees housing -Fairness for all Yukon Housing tenents regardless of race. -Fairness and consistency regarding governing and upholding YHA policies from person to person/family to family -To stop harrassment from community YHA Territorial Representitives Sign the petition! Details, Impact and Progress -YTG employees who reside in Yukon Housing have a 'cap' on their rent, paying a maximum of $600. per month plus utilities regardless of their income. Tenents residing in Yukon Housing pay 25% of their GROSS income, with no 'cap' and in some cases this means thousands of hard-earned dollars every month just for rent, plus utilities, yet they earn far less working in a non-Governmental position than a Government Employee. -In the communities of the Yukon it seems that there are a lot of political aspects that trigger favouritism for some people and not others. Letters that are sent out to Yukon Housing tenents such as a notice to remove snow and ice, or to keep the yard clean, do not reach other people who have YH clear their snow for them and keep their yards looking like garbage dumps. -YHA Territorial Reps seem to think they have the right to just 'drop in' on anyone residing in Yukon Housing without prior notice, and they visit tenents at the tenents place of work to discuss issues regarding Yukon Housing and the tenent's unit or other issues regarding YHA. YHA Reps also discuss private and confidential information with others around the community that should have remained with the Territorial Representitive.
