36 signatures so far! Petition created by: Shoaib Khan It is time for Urdu lovers to come together and take real action to bring Urdu to real terms at National, Regional and at International scenes. Urdu has been confined to literature and poetry now it is our job to bring the language in actual work in day to day life, though the work is being going on in this field, our petition will help those who are in the ground reality for the language. Our demands for urdu language: 1).Urdu being the National language of Pakistan it is our demand that the National and State assembly conventions and sessions must be in Urdu only. 2).In whole of Pakistan the sign boards Public or Private, individual company or organisation must be in Urdu, besides Urdu these signs boards can be allowed in English wherever required. 3).The Head of the State of Pakistan whether President, Prime Minister or anyone who is representing Pakistan at home or abroad must deliver his/her lecture in Urdu only. However he/she can reply in English besides Urdu during press conference. 4).The titles of films, dramas and other tv serials must be in Urdu besides English as they are the identity of Paksitan abroad. 5).Besides Government offices Urdu must be given priority in private sectors also in Pakistan. 6).Urdu must also be used in scorebaords of any sports event and even the scorecards must be in Urdu besides English in all Pakistan's stadiums and sports complexes. 7).The Government of Pakistan must work at Internatinal level to promote Urdu and must make efforts at official level to make urdu the seventh language of United Nation as it is the language of 430 million in the subcontinent and around the world.Please visit http://petitions.takingitglobal.org/URDU to sign! 8). In India Urdu be made the second official language in Gujarat, Rajasthan, western Madhya Pradesh and North Western Maharashtra where there are sizeable population of muslims and urdu speakers and where urdu has its strong roots for centuries. 9). More grants to be given for Urdu schools which are on the verge of closer. The government of India had already set up ministries and advisory boards for promotion of urdu, now it is upto the NGOs and other organisations to see it work. 10).Muslim students in India must be allowed to take urdu as one of the languages in schools besides English, Hindi and regional languages in State boards and University examinations. 11).Muslim institutes and organisations in India must be forced to make use of Urdu language in their official work, sign boards, in their menu cards if in hotel business and so on. 12).Every Government notice in India must be in urdu language also besides Hindi and other respective regional languages. 13).People, Governments, organisations and NGOs both in Pakistan and India must make efforts to make more and more use of Urdu at internet. 14).The websites of Pakistan and Indian muslim organisations must ensure that it is available in Urdu also besides English.
