Children in Congo want go to school!

Children in Congo want go to school!

POKO, DUNGU, AMADI are localities located at the North-East of the Democratic Republic of Congo at  Province Eastern. It is at the border of the country with South Sudan and Center African. Dungu is located at the District of Haut-Uele; Poko and Amadi are located at the District of Bas-Uele.
As regards the social aspects the population of this part of the country lives in misery, with less d'1€ per day and family. There is no employment in this area. The one activity of the population is to farm only for eating for them self. And what they produce is not enough for them self. Politically, it is the general situation of the North-East of the Dém. Rép. of Congo. Since the various wars the situation is not yet stable. The Government does not pay the teachers and support not the schools. The schools fees and the various expenses of school are paid by the parents.

3. Situation of schooling in Poko, Dungu and Amadi
The rate of schooling in this Area is lowest of the country, i.e. 53% for the boys and 42% for the girls. For lack of means 76% pupils of this area give up the school before finishing the primary school. Schooling is thus a real difficulty in this area where there is neither political nor program of the Congolese State for the promotion of schooling.
