Details, Impact and Progress The sale of counterfeit goods has been identified as a major source of revenue for organized crime - a way to launder money and a resource to fund dangerous crimes. Because counterfeit goods are created and sold without any form of regulation, there are many potential safety hazards. Everything from prescription drugs to food to clothing is being counterfeit. When we knowingly buy counterfeit goods we are supporting organized crime and an industry that violates our consumer rights. By refusing to engage this industry we will weaken their reach!
