I Believe Too many People and Children as well as our Youths have learned to be intolerant and non-accepting of our Global Religions and Cultural/Ethnic background as a direct result of the failure of our Educational System's to allow for unbiased, open discussions regarding the Religions,Cultures,Ethnicity Globally around the world.I find that the lack of an unbiased and open Educational Learning within this whole field assists leading one more towards Intollerance,Racisms;as well as presents a biased point of view largely cinsisting of Misintrepretation;Better to educate unbiasedly than have today's racism, ignorance and biaseness because of the lack of correct and true information,as long as it is without all biasness. Should be every students Right to know the truth.

Living in a cocoon of one's own culture & religion could have been possible one hundred years ago. But now, as the world grows smaller, it is becoming more & more inevitable that we get to understand each others' beliefs and learn to accept others as they are by knowing what makes them different. Let's free ourselves of those rigid stereotypes calcifying our minds and start realizing that some diversities do co exist.

It's said that no two individual can aways reason the same all the time. Thus no two community can likewise have the same culture and religion. So in order for two or more individual or community to reason the same, there must be dialogue and understanding between them. Therefore, i beleive it is necessary to study somebody religion and culture, respect it, and convince the other party to practice the other religion and culture if we need to move forward toward unity. No religion or culture is superior to another so we have to respect each other point of view. Only dialogue and understanding came make us the live as one. If you go to Rome do what the Roman are doing to avoid problem with them. God gave man the will power to make a choice between good and bad. All what we have to do with some of those bad religion and culture is to give them disadvantages of it and change their mentality peacefully. Posted by dreamer from Cameroon on 5/08/2004

I believe that people deserve the right to learn about different religions, even in school. As long as the teachers are not forcing an opinion on a child it should be allowed. The United States especially needs to realize their are so many cultural diversities that it is necessary to understand other religions.

This world is composed of many many different cultures and religions. There needs to be an awareness and respect for all. You are only hurting yourself if you refuse to be open minded to others and thier ways of life.

i am currently teaching at a sydney school which is represented by 32 cultures. A good idea which i will present to my school and my students. I wonder if this idea was implemented in places like Iraq and Palestine that there may be peace at least one day earlier.Gandhi not O'Sama.

People should always have a right to learn, whether it be matematics or others cultural backgrounds. However, the task at hand is to promote acceptance of other cultures as opposed to preaching one's own religion to others. The goal is to stop ignorance.
Verenigde Staten Katharine - Feb 3, 2004

People, as Americain's, have rights to learn about religion in schools, as long as it is not pursuasive in a way that is either positive or negative. Students have a right to learn about religion in the classroom. It may even inspire students to become more religious.

In hope that the education will be done on nutral grounds and without biases and/or racisms. I suggest that for each of the discussed religions, the introduction and the discussion and the material is provided by a globally recognized religious authorority of that religion. Let every one speak for himself by himself about himself. And let there be no one pretending to be nutral under some academic or humanitarian or developed or god knows what disguise ! Fair ?
