398 signatures so far! Petition created by: Max Kaplan Cycling is "the new golf" of America. If you drive your car outside on a Sunday morning, you will most likely see at least one person riding their bike. It is a grueling sport that requires physical fitness, brains, and toughness. Lance Armstrong describes the sport perfectly. He said, "This is not Disneyland, or Hollywood. I'll give you an example: I've read that I flew up the hills and mountains of France. But you don't fly up a hill. You struggle slowly and painfully up a hill, and maybe, if you work very hard, you get to the top ahead of everybody else." That describes the sport perfectly. It is such a hard sport, and it deserves NCAA recognition. From this petition, I hope to convince some colleges to upgrade cycling to varsity status to meet the mininum number of instituitions needed for a sport to be part of the NCAA. Thank you for your time, and I hope you will help me in bringing cycling to the NCAA. 12/24 update: 81 signatures. We're making great progress. I've been getting the same questions over and over again so I made a FAQ page. If you or any of your friends have any questions or concerns, read the FAQ page.
