People United In Support of the Denali Deaf Community Center
We the following petitioners would like to make our voice heard. The State of Alaska needs a Deaf & Hard of hearing center to meet the needs of over 25,000 Alaskan Citizens. Help us build a Deaf & Hard of hearing center to reduce Deaf isolation, help those homeless & assist those disenfranchised due to barriers accessing community resources.
The Denali Deaf Community Center provides an open, inspiring place that empowers and includes persons who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Deaf-Blind, in every aspect of our Alaskan Communities.

I've seen the segregation amongst the hearing and deaf community first hand. Our Deaf and Hard of Hearing community need somewhere to go as much as any other culture does.

Always have Deaf Community set up there than having all Deaf people available to fly to nearest Deaf Community Center. It's for good reason to do that.

Having two daughters who are deaf/hard of hearing I believe this is a necessity in every community . I believe it helps with understanding and gives a place for deaf people to come together and the possibility of the hearing to better understand the culture to help remove some of the bias so many hearing people have .
