To an ettent, the clitoris of widows are also being cut off. The main reason for this is that; for the girl child, she will not know a man fast and will get married as a virgin. For the widows, they say it makes the widow not to have interest for sex any longer so that she may remain without having sex with any other man since the husband is dead . In so doing, the woman will always remain under the family of the husband. Sign the petition! Details, Impact and Progress It is practised in my country Cameroon and in several African counties. How is it carried out? the older women are those whop carry the act and those who encourage it. They use old knives, desinged for it and cut off the clitoris. The danger is that that same knife is being used for several people and can trnamit HIV/AIDS. from recent findings, many girl children and widows and gotten HIV/AIDS through genital mutilation. That is not even enough many children have lost their lives either during or after the process and if this happends, they say the child was not a strong child. Recdently some progress have been made in fighting this issue.Evidence can be seen now that it is no longer done in the open as before and due to sensitisation, some people are becoming aware and dumping the practice.
