We pay extra pricing for the packaging for everything purchased.Companies everywhere are not thinking how much waste this causes.where does it end up? In the Pacific Ocean where the four great Oceans of our globe meet near the Equatoe & Hawaii,as a massive human water Garbage Dump the size of Texas.It's Absolutely Discusting as well as Unnecessary. e Absolutely - in 7-11 they have singular pieces of fruit on a polystyrene tray, wrapped in three layers of clingfilm or other low density plastic. There is no other word than disgusting. I agree companies use WAY too much packaging. And WAY too much PLASTIC for packaging. We at Kiss It Better Bath & Body Co. use minimal ammounts of packaging for our products our soaps are wrapped in recycled paper 1 sheet makes 10 wrappings we are considering hemp paper to make it even more ec-friendly. We use glass bottles for our lotions and steel tins for salts. Everything is recyclable if you dont want to keep the packaging or Re-usable since we offer a discount to people who send the empty packaging BACK to us for a re-fill. Little things go a long way and we encourage more companies to do the same. One by one we can all make a differance! Talking about excess packaging, has anyone been to Japan? It's horrendous the amount of packaging on products. For example, if you go to the convenience store and purchase something, they will automatically give you chopsticks (wooden) packaged in plastic, a plastic straw packaged in plastic, advertisement papers, and (if your foreign) plastic cutlery each packaged in PLASTIC?
If you try to tell them you do not need those things, the clerks become very confused? I guess it dosen't even cross their minds that they are contributing to so much unnecessary waste!
Besides packaging, what about all this useless mailing?? I get five credit card offers every week, catalogs from Staples and Dell, and other mailings often not even addressed to me (but to past tenants who no longer live here).
