Peace is a child’s smile, Peace is love, Peace is greenery, Peace is a beautiful waterfall, and all in all peace is the most important thing which is required by the world. But Peace in this modern world seems to be impossible and far from reality. With conflicts like Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Kashmir, Korea, Iraq, Sri Lanka, and Northern Ireland it seems impossible that one day the world will have complete harmony and peace and we all will be living with tranquility. But together we must work to make peace in every part of world because we owe this our future generations. Conflict Transformation has become one of the major needs for today’s world. Today’s uni-polar world has threatened the world peace greatly and transforming these conflicts is the need of the day. But what really conflict transformation is? According to Lederach, we should recognize the nature of conflict and work with its "dialectic nature." By this he means that humans who are involved in relationships, yet once it occurs naturally create social conflict, it changes (i.e., transforms), those events, people, and relationships that created the initial conflict. Thus, the cause-and-effect relationship goes both ways--from the people and the relationships to the conflict and back to the people and relationships. In this sense, "conflict transformation" is a term that describes a natural occurrence. Conflicts change relationships in predictable ways, altering communication patters and patterns of social organization, altering images of the self and of the other. Conflict can easily be transformed if the parties concern realize social and cultural sensitivities of each other and then make distinction that what is acceptable and what is not acceptable to both parties and make a third option acceptable to both the parties. Growing tensions between developed and developing countries, no solution for old problems, widening gap between rich and poor and increasing number of people living below poverty lines are problems, which I think are the threats to global peace. If not addressed today, these problems will make this world a living hell in just a decade or so. Its time for all of us to sit together and to start thinking about conflict transformation. I think the fast we do this better for us because the clock is ticking and people who can exploit this situation are very powerful so its time for conflict transformation. We have to sit and understand each other’s cultural values, their system and what they can give. The first step in this regard is Activism, to make people understand that people around the globe are same and the problem of a person sitting in Pakistan and of a person sitting in Calgary,CANADA may not be the same but the person of Calgary,CANADA feel for the other. Similarly, the west must understand that the citizen of third world is not his enemy but it requires same attention as he himself. There is no conflict in the world, which cannot be, solved what is required for conflict transformation is little effort and sincerity. The youth can play their role as agents of change in their communities by developing the sense of rights and responsibility among their fellows, organizing them in the groups and building their capacities. As a sensitive person of a third world country, I have seen many things, which touched me deeply. The area where we live is extremely underdeveloped, it faces severe problems; one of them is Peace, because every one knows the situation between Pakistan & India, I think “Peace is still a dream far from being even coming close to reality. For achieving sustainable peace one has to be big hearted and open minded to resolve conflicts. I see no reason that why not ever lasting peace can be achieved. I am sure that youth of the entire world can sit and easily sort out their differences. It’s our responsibility and it should be our goal. Details, Impact and Progress Together we must work to make peace in every part of world because we owe this our future generations. World Peace should be the main concern of every sensible man. In the first half of the last century the thirst of a specific group to get as much power as they can result in the death of millions of people around the world. After the bloodshed people sat together and devised a strategy to bring lasting peace in the world, which can provide a better world to coming generations. But the dream of lasting peace is still far from reality, the hunger for power has given a chance to terrorists to work for their vested interests. It is the need of the hour to stop terrorism in its all forms larger countries should provide equal chances to less developed countries and there is a strong need that people all over the globe sit together and devise a strategy which should provide equal chances to all and make world peace a lasting reality.
