299 signatures so far! Petition created by: Brandon Tutak Six students were unfairly punished with a five day suspension including no prom, senior picnic, or graduation ceremony. The incident that occurred involved only 20 (rough estimate) balloons being thrown in the lunchroom. The balloons were being tossed in the air, not viciously thrown at individuals. Staff and teachers searched and found water balloons in student’s backpacks and sentenced a majority of those individuals with this same unruly punishment. Everybody is aware that the administration is responsible for every student’s safety but the consequences they have passed down onto these students is unheard of. Where do we draw the line and ask how much is enough? If this incident would have occurred the first week of school would this same punishment have been issued? This punishment not only affects the six students, but their prom dates, and entire families. You spend two thirds of your life in school, staying focused and dedicated to finally graduating and grabbing your diploma across that stage, and it's all diminished due to a very small amount of H2O and rubber. We're asking the staff and school district of UCS to re-consider their punishment with a more lenient sentence. We ask you to not destroy so many important memories due to such an insignificant senior prank. 299 have signed so far - help us get to 1,000.  We have achieved 29.9% of our goal. Let's keep going!
