A Right to Traditional Medicine

Simply said, all human beings have a right to good health, and by extension, access to good health care services as well. At present, only a minority of nations around the world can guarantee access to quality health care services, and in most cases traditional medicine is not included as part of every individual's right to good health.

A right to traditional medicine encourages the peaceful integration of Indigenous as well as modified-traditional practices of medicine that seek to not only benefit the health of the individual but the entire community as well.

I would personally like to urge all young people who are concerned about the issue of health and unrestricted access to quality health care services to lobby, protest, and write their government officials and civil society members to ensure that access to both modern and traditional medicine is guaranteed for all citizens regardless of culture, ethnicity, language, religion, economic status, etc.
