We are citizens of the world who care deeply about the direction of our world community and sustainability of our planet. We believe in the promise and possibility of the United States and the need for American leadership to help build a more sustainable, more just, more peaceful world. For this reason we care about the 2008 US Presidential elections.
More than at any other time in history the citizens of the world are watching this election, hoping that this will be the time the United States re-engages with the world as true partners to take real action to combat climate change, reduce poverty, advance disarmament and address the root causes of terrorism. We are watching, and hoping, that American voters will recognize the historic moment we find ourselves in, when new hope must be matched by concerted action to build a better world. We know this cannot be achieved without the United States. And while we cannot vote in the upcoming election we want you to know: Yes we care!
