Petition created by: Cameron Kennedy The True Democracy petition is the idea of introducing a piece of legislation in which politicians running for presidency have to by law sign a contract in which there proposed policies have to be enacted and if they are not they have to by law be fired from office. For example if Barack Obama who is running for presidency in 2012 promises the removal of American troops out of Afghanistan within 1 year he must sign a contract where the policy he promised must be enforced. If he fails to follow through on any of his policies then he will be removed from office and the country will go back to the polls to select a candidate who keeps his promises. The reason why we must enforce the democratic contract legislation act is because for too long politicians in a so called democracy have been promising policies in which they have not acted on, they have lied for too long and we must act to regain true democracy. This way if we vote for a candidate who promises no war and economic growth and equality then that is what the people will recieve, if the candidate does not fulfill the promises then we will elect someone who will. A true democratic sysytem where the people have the power. Please sign this petition, lets build momentum and get people talking about a democracy where politicians keep there promises.
